In Highland Dancing there are three levels of
Professional Examinations.
- ASSOCIATE: qualified to teach for a studio
or on one’s own if supervised and guided on a regular basis by a
qualified teacher.
- MEMBER: full certification to teach
- FELLOW: Certifying teaching experience and
detailed knowledge of the theory & technique.
The Fellowship differs from the first two
levels in that it is given by 2 examiners but, each of the three exams
is marked on the ‘practical’ (dancing) and theory (a 1.5 to 3 hour oral
exam).
At each level the results are graded Fail,
Pass, Commended or Highly Commended.
